Snacks for the Big Game!

|

We’re just days away from one of the biggest sporting events of the year and I just have to know, what does your table fill up with?!

As a personal lover of all things food and football, I do enjoy the first Sunday in February every year. I mean how can you not? Big game, food and the best commercials of the year are all bundled up into one fun afternoon.

In honor of Sunday’s game, we rounded up a few of our favorite snacks. And make sure you let us know what you end up making too; we always like to hear new ideas!

Apple Grilled Cheeses – Instead of Grilled Cheese dunkers, give these Apple Grilled Cheeses a try instead! They are easy to make and taste even better to consume. Plus, there are a ton of combinations you can try, like Honeycrisp with provolone or Granny Smith and cheddar! The combinations really are endless.

Apple Pie Nachos – If you practice or are just starting a paleo diet, these Apple Pie Nachos from paleOMG should be your go too for a game-time dessert. It requires simple ingredients (which you can find at any supermarket) and the instructions are easy to follow. Plus, Juli from paleOMG is hilarious and will have you giggling in no time after reading some of her blog posts.

Prosciutto Wrapped Apples with Manchego Cheese – Are you looking for an appetizer with a fancy name, but doesn’t require much work? Then your search is over. Danae from Recipe Runner came up with this 15-minute recipe that will have any lover of savory snacks coming back for seconds before their first serving is even gone.

Slow Cooker Pulled Pork with Apples – If you are looking for a main dish to include, in addition to your delicious sides, give this Slow Cooker Pulled Pork recipe a try. What’s the twist you ask? It includes apples! Yup, we bet you your guests won’t even know that this pulled pork recipe is actually healthy! *Gasp* But seriously, this recipe is delicious and you won’t be disappointed.

Pear & Prosciutto Pizza – Is it really football if you don’t have pizza included in your line-up? I didn’t think so. This pizza is both sweet and savory and a great combination of simple ingredients. I mean really, how can you not love a piece of dough piled with healthy, savory ingredients?

Pear Pie Crumble Bars – Wrap up your big game shenanigans with some Pear Pie Crumble Bars. Dorothy from Crazy for Crust has created this mouth-watering recipe that will be sure your blow the socks off your Big Game guests! Fresh pears (d’Anjou would work great), a crumbly topping and caramel… um, YES PLEASE.

Tell us what you plan on making this year in the comments below!
