These apples are all the rave! Say hello to a new Stemilt signature apple with zippy flavor and an attitude to match. With a unique flavor profile: sweet, juicy, and tart- this apple is best enjoyed as a fresh snack. You’ll love its fuchsia-red color and incredible crunch with juice in every bite.
If you’re curious about the new apple on the block like I was, it’s the natural result of cross-pollinating the beloved Honeycrisp and MonArk, a variety from Arkansas that ripens three weeks before other apples- now that’s worth raving about! 😉
Because the Rave® Apple is best enjoyed in its raw form, today we are making Raw Apple Crumble! It’s easy, it’s naturally sweetened, and it has that snappy zing that other apples might not bring to this healthy dessert recipe!
You’ll need a total of 10 ingredients to make this Raw Apple Crumble including 3 Rave® Apples, lemon juice, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla, almond flour, pecans, dates, and optionally (but highly recommended) vanilla ice cream.
You’ll peel and dice the apples, toss them in a blended apple mixture and then top with an easy, delicious date & nut crumble. It’s the perfect sweet treat to showcase the unique sweetness and tartness of these juicy Rave® Apples!
You can also spot our Rave® Apples in this delicious savory Apple Bruschetta recipe, the perfect savory dish for entertaining. The sweetness and tartness of the apples pairs so well with the buttery Gruyère and sweet caramelized onions! Another way to enjoy Rave® Apples is as the perfect power snack paired with nut or seed butter like we talked about in our Nut Butters and Applespost. Sunflower seed butter and chickpea butter in particular compliment the Rave® Apples unique flavor profile and are great as an allergy-friendly snack too!

Make the crumble first. In a food processor or blender, combine all of the crumble ingredients and pulse until a fine crumble is formed. Spoon into a bowl and set aside.
Next, peel and dice the apples. Place 1 cup of the diced apples into the food processor and toss the other 2 cups with the lemon juice in a bowl and set aside.
Blend the cup of apples with the sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla, salt and water until smooth, scraping down the sides if necessary.
Spoon the blended apple mixture into the bowl with the diced apples and toss to combine.
Spoon the apples into bowls and top with the crumble topping and vanilla ice cream if desired (highly recommended).
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
