About The Fruit
It’s the poster child of pears, and the juiciest one on the block. Bartlett pears set the bar for other varieties with their classic pear flavor, juicy bite and buttery goodness.
We think Bartlett is the perfect snacking pear, but it’s also a great one to can or make pear sauce with if you’re prepping ahead for the winter season.
More About The Fruit
The Bartlett pear was discovered by an English schoolmaster named Mr. Stair in 1765. Not too long after that, it was first planted in the United States at the Thomas Brewer Estate in Massachusetts. When Enoch Bartlett bought the estate, he decided to introduce the fruit under his own name.
Stemilt grows Bartlett in Washington State’s famous river valleys. This pear is known as the Williams pear in other parts of the world.
