About The Fruit
Bosc is the bronze beauty with a sweet and fall spice flavor. Enjoy notes of cinnamon and nutmeg while biting into this crisp, juicy pear.
Bosc can do it all and is one of our favorite pears for poaching. It withstands heat better than most and is a great choice for baking.
More About The Fruit
The history of Bosc is not so clear and likely will never be known. Bosc is the long-necked, bronze-hued pear that came from Europe to the United States in 1833. While we call the pear Bosc in the U.S., others around the world call it the Kaiser Alexander or the Buerrè Bosc for its buttery texture.
Stemilt grows Bosc in Washington State’s famous river valleys where the best pears in the world are grown. Trust us!
